The history of
this site creation is the following. My interest for history, religion
and art was formed rather unexpectedly. It was not the soviet school
education, but my parents, who influenced on my literary taste. It was
due to them that I took great interest in books by Francois Rabelais,
Victor Hugo, Heinrich Mann's, and then Gustave Flaubert, Plato and Lao
Tzu. It was contrary to what our school education offered us to read.
Gradually my literary interest grew into historical and religious. I
started to learn the history of the development of the Mediterranean
sea countries during 2-1 millennium BC. Then I found out that my native
Russian culture borrowed a lot from Byzantine and Greece cultures. And
due to their influence Russia had its golden age in 11-12 centuries
AD and survived the severest Mongol invasion in 13-14 centuries. In
the beginning of the second millennium a new Orthodox culture was generated
in ancient Russia. Unique monuments were created,
which do not cease to impress people even nowadays. And here these monuments
are: so close to me, in my native city of Vladimir.
So, I could not held from telling you about them.
